Weekly newsletter- week ending Friday 22nd June 2018
As you will all be aware, we had an Ofsted inspection on Tuesday this week. We are among the first group of schools to be measured against the new inspection framework which was shared formally via the Department for Education in April this year. The inspections are rigorous in nature and allow inspectors to challenge all areas of academy from safeguarding matters to curriculum outcomes and from the quality of leadership and management to the views of parents and student. Since joining The Priory Federation of Academies Trust on 1st October 2017, we have been building on the best practice here at Belvoir and driving forward on the initiatives and standards which are key to ensuring the very best outcomes for our students. I am hoping to be able to share the judgement of that visit with you before the end of this term.
We are very much looking forward to our Open Evening event on Tuesday next week. Over 100 students have volunteers to be guides and ambassadors for departments who will be showcasing their subject area. Wednesday is our PSHE “drop down” afternoon and Thursday is sports day! Bearing this and the warm temperatures forecast for next week in mind, would you remind your child to bring a refillable water bottle each day.
